(Greendale, Ind.) - A man who allegedly scammed a convenience store clerk into giving him extra change has been arrested.

Greendale Police say Bryan Peters, of Lawrenceburg, pulled off a quick change scam at the Ameristop on U.S. 50 in September.

Investigators released the suspect’s photo to local media on September 26. On October 19, Greendale Police received information from the Indiana State Police and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department that they had in custody a person that may be connected to the scam.

After interviewing Peters and comparing the photographs, police charged him with Theft.

“Cooperation and information sharing between law enforcement agencies and the publication of the case by Eagle Radio and Register Publications were key in solving this crime,” said Sgt. Kevin Turner.
