(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Candidates for House District 67 and Ohio County School Board will meet in Rising Sun Tuesday.
A group of teachers and parents are holding a debate at the Rising Sun Senior Center on Tuesday evening, October 30 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Eagle 99.3 News Director Mike Perleberg has been chosen to moderate the event.
State representative candidates Democrat Tom Cheek, of Aurora, and incumbent Republican Randy Frye ,of Greensburg, will debate on education and other issues.
Also slated to appear are candidates for Rising Sun-Ohio County Community Schools Board of Trustees. They will take turns answering questions. Those candidates include:
District 1: Holt Hoffman, running unopposed.
District 2: Melissa Brown Morris and Christopher R. Whitham.
District 3: William “Billy” Hayes. Incumbent board member Tim Elbright will not be in attendance.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors to the senior center open at 6:30. Audience members will be welcome to write their questions for candidates on index cards. Some of those questions will be included in the debates.
