(Highland Heights, Ky.) - Northern Kentucky University’s new president is formally put in position Friday.
Geoffrey Mearns will officially be installed during a ceremony at the Bank of Kentucky Center on NKU's campus beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson will also be on hand for the installation ceremony.
A public reception at the W. Frank Steely Library will immediately follow the installation. The reception is expected to start at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Mearns was named NKU's fifth president after the retirement of longtime president James Votruba in May.
