(Versailles, Ind.) - A local educator is getting a big honor.

The Indiana Association of School Principals has named South Ripley Elementary School Assistant Principal Amy Linkel as the District 10 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year.

District 10 is made up of schools in Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Hancock, Jennings, Ripley, Rush, Shelby, and Union counties.

Linkel is now among 12 finalists for the statewide Indiana Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year. She’ll learn if she’s won that award at the Indiana Association of School Principals Conference luncheon in Indianapolis on November 18.

The District 10 award was decided by Linkel’s peers.
