On Sunday, June 11, a Greendale police officer saw Miles Ritzmann allegedly doing more than 100 MPH on his 2004 Yamaha R6 motorcycle on State Road 1, where the speed limit is 45 MPH.
According to a court affidavit, the officer also witnessed Ritzmann, 21, pass a car on a curved stretch of the highway designated as a no passing zone.
Ritzmann did not immediately stop once the officer flipped on his cruiser's lights and sirens. The biker turned right onto Nowlin Avenue and slowed to a speed of 60 MPH, but in a 25 MPH zone.
Ritzmann finally stopped on Nowlin near Meadowcreek Drive. He told the officer he was not trying to flee, but just "stretching out" the motorcycle.
Eyewitnesses say Ritzmann was wearing a helmet.
Ritzmann was arrested and is now charged with Reckless Driving. He has already bonded out of the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
