(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man is accused of using a knife to threaten another man.
Anthony Morgan, 29, is charged with felony Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon and misdemeanor Battery for an October 4 incident at a home on Hyland Road in Guilford.
Dearborn County Deputies were called to the home and spoke to the victim who lived there. Deputies observed the victim had cuts on his forearm and bruising on his right cheek. They also saw a broken driver side window on the victim’s Mercury Grand Marquis with glass shards nearby. Blood was seen on the steering wheel and other areas inside the car.
The victim told investigators that Morgan and two other people came to his home and an altercation ensued. The group began hitting the victim, who then locked himself inside his vehicle in the driveway.
“Anthony Morgan broke the drivers side window and started punching (the victim) in the face. Morgan then pulled out a four inch knife and told (the victim) to get out of the car and that Morgan was going to kill him,” deputies wrote in a court affidavit detailing the charges.
Police obtained a search warrant for the Lawrenceburg hotel room Morgan and his accomplices were staying in. Morgan told investigators that they were all going together to buy drugs when the fight began.
Morgan was arrested early the next day. He remains held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on $75,000 surety and $1,000 cash bond, although he cannot bond out until December 9.
