(Batesville, Ind.) – It took more than three years, but perseverance by Batesville Police has resulted in an arrest for an armed robbery.
Dewell Zach Kirby, 27, of Batesville, allegedly used a sharp object to hold up the Save-On-Tobacco store on Main Street in February 10, 2009. The store clerk called 911 to report the story robbery at about 12:40 p.m.
The clerk told investigators that the suspect ordered him to the ground while holding the sharp object. The alleged thief then stole money.
Recent developments led detectives to Kirby, who was arrested on Wednesday.
Kirby is charged with Armed Robbery (Class B felony) and Theft (Class D felony). He is being held in the Ripley County Jail.
