(Corinth, Ky.) – An Owen County woman is accused of attempting to shoot her father, who happens to be the county sheriff.
Heather Hammond, 35, of Glencoe, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Kentucky State Police troopers.
Preliminary investigation shows that Hammond, who is the daughter of Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond, pointed a loaded weapon at her father while at his home in Corinth on Friday, October 5th. Troopers say that when Hammond attempted to shoot, the weapon jammed and did not fire.
Hammond was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Wanton Endangerment. She was lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Kentucky State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
