(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Atheists are organizing a lobbying group at the Indiana Statehouse.

According to The Indianapolis Star, the Indianapolis Chapter of the Secular Coalition for America is asking non-theistic Hoosiers to join its group for an October 15 organizational meeting via conference call.

The group says its mission would be to lobby state lawmakers from church and state separation. Organizers say the group is even open to believers who support separation.

“We fight in Washington DC against religious privileging on a federal level, yet some of the most egregious violations of separation of church and state are being promoted and passed at a state level. We need your help to see real change in Indianapolis and across Indiana,” read a statement on the organization’s website.

The conference call meeting will be Monday, October 15 at 3:00 p.m. Attendees should call 530-881-1400 and enter code 978895.
