(Florence, Ky.) - A new road in Boone County will open any day now.

Aero Parkway, formerly the South Airfield Road Project, is a $19 million, 2.5 mile connector between Kentucky 18 and Turfway Road. A section of the project named Ted Bushelman Boulevard after the late Florence City Councilman will also open soon.

A ribbon cutting will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the intersection directly across from the new alignment with Oakbrook Road off Burlington Pike/KY 18.

Parking for the event will be available on the new Aero Parkway.

County leaders expect the new road will help relieve congestion on Houston Road in Florence. The new road also opens up hundreds of acres of land for new development.
