(Madison, Ind.) – Motorists who travel the Milton-Madison Bridge carrying U.S. 421 over the Ohio River may want to plan on a delay Wednesday, October 3.

The bridge will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Engineers from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be monitoring items on the bridge that were highlighted in recent inspections. 

The Cabinet recently implemented a monthly inspection frequency to review these locations.  The goal is to keep the Milton-Madison Bridge operational during the super-structure replacement project.

Engineers said the lane closure is subject to change due to inclement weather and other unforeseen delays.
