(Greendale, Ind.) - A Florence business owner is accused of selling drugs and stolen firearms in southeast Indiana.
Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit detectives began investigating Jack Grigson in August after learning he was allegedly dealing prescription medication in the area, according to a court affidavit. Grigson, 68, operates a business on U.S. 42 in Florence called Grigson Auctioneers & Real Estate Broker.
A couple days after learning Grigson was selling medications that were prescribed to him, detectives arranged for an undercover officer to meet with Grigson.
During the meeting in a parking lot off U.S. 50, Grigson allegedly sold an undercover officer a stolen Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun and 22 tramadol pills. It was later learned that the gun was reported stolen in Boone County.
Investigators set up more meetings with Grigson in the following three weeks, eventually purchasing an SKS rifle, ammunition, and oxycodone pills, detectives claimed in the affidavit.
Grigson was arrested Friday in Dearborn County on charges of Receiving Stolen Property (Class D felony), Unlawful Sale of a Legend Drug (Class D felony), and Dealing in a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Class B felony).
