(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Ivy Tech Community College Southeast is hosting a public Volunteer Fair October 4, 2012 at the Riverfront Campus, 50 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg. Hours of the Volunteer Fair are 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The fair will be held in the 3rd floor lobby.
Community organizations participating include Big Brothers, Big Sisters, NEDA, Clearinghouse, Lawrenceburg Public Library, and the Red Cross. Other organizations are also expected to attend.
The Volunteer Fair provides reciprocal benefits. Organizations relying on volunteers can explain their mission, purposes and goals. Prospective volunteers, including high school age students, can determine which organization or organizations could utilize their talents. Community service is especially beneficial when included on resumes, college applications, and scholarship opportunities.
