(Covington, Ky.) - Sunday marked two years since Florence teenager Paige Johnson seemingly vanished.
Then 17-years-old, Johnson has not been seen or heard from since she was dropped off at the intersection of 15th Street and Scott Boulevard in Covingotn, Kentucky in the early hours of September 23, 2010. Family members and friends held a vigil on Sunday at the same corner.
Jacob Bumpass, who has been a person of interest in Johnson’s disappearance, told police he dropped her off at that street corner. Although Covington Police have investigated him, Bumpass has not been charged in connected with Paige’s disappearance.
Bumpass, 24, remains a person of interest in the case, investigators said, although he has declined further interviews with police.
Covington Police have not released any significant developments in their quest for Johnson since they searched a farm in Barbourville, Kentucky – located in Knox County in the southeastern end of the state – in July. Authorities dug for a shallow grave, citing an anonymous tip that said Johnson could be found there.
The public is urged to contact with police with information regarding Paige Johnson’s disappearance. Call Covington Police at (859) 292-2222 or contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at www.missingkids.com.
