Press release from Baylor Trucking

(Milan, Ind.) - Have you thanked someone for making a difference in your life today? During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2012 (Sept. 16-22) Baylor Trucking is making sure that the professional truck drivers who deliver the goods Americans use everyday are recognized.

"National Truck Driver Appreciation Week gives us a chance to thank the professional truck drivers that deliver all the items we need daily; from diapers, food, clothing, and medicine, even parts that protect our Armed Forces. It is essential to explain how important truck drivers are," said Bob Baylor, President, Baylor Trucking. "Professional truck drivers move America safely, often sacrificing time with their families to deliver the necessities of our country."

Baylor Trucking is holding numerous events at their terminals and shipping partner facilities honoring their hard working team. Each driver is given a gift card from Pilot Flying J. Each department at Baylor has created their own personalized video message posted on YouTube and Baylor Trucking’s Facebook page. Drivers receive gifts from Industry Suppliers and are entered in a raffle for five $100 gift cards courtesy of EFS. Baylor drivers are all given new patriotic shirts, thanking them for their service and special thank you cards designed and distributed for all drivers. The finale of the week is a luncheon for all employees honoring Baylor’s first driver and founder, Chester Baylor on his 93rd birthday.

There are over 3.1 million professional truck drivers nationwide, with 267,453 drivers in Indiana. On a national scale, 80 percent of U.S. communities depend solely on the trucking industry.

Baylor Trucking urges everyone in the motoring public and shipping community to thank every professional truck driver that works nights, weekends and holidays making a difference delivering all of life’s good stuff to us.
