(Richwood, Ky.) – Aircare was called to an overnight accident on Dixie Highway in Richwood.

Boone County deputies say the crash happened just after 3:00 a.m. Wednedsay when a driver lost control and crashes his vehicle into a fire hydrant near Frogtown Road. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the wrecked vehicle. The unidentified victim was then taken by Aircare to University Hospital in Cincinnati for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
