(Bright, Ind.) - He burglarized two homes in Dearborn County, stole a homeowner’s gun, shot another homeowner, and then stole his car.
William Gajdik will be sentenced Monday morning in Dearborn Circuit Court. The 39-year-old was convicted in a jury trial last month of Attempted Murder, Robbery Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Auto Theft, and two counts of Burglary.
Gajdik terrorized the Bright area last September, culminating with the near-fatal shooting of Robert Tibbits in Tibbit’s home on Ruth Avenue in Logan Township.
The 39-year-old faces more than 80 years in prison when sentenced today. Following his initial conviction on the list of charges on August 14, the jury then convicted Gajdik of being a habitual offender – an enhancement which can add up to 30 years to his sentence.
Eagle 99.3 will have the sentencing hearing covered.
