(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - There may be work in the casino industry out there for at least some of the 160 employees let go from Hollywood Casino this week.
Eagle 99.3 was the first to report Wednesday when the Lawrenceburg riverboat announced it was cutting the employees as a result of softer consumer spending and expanded casino gaming in Ohio. Now, those employees may be looking to Ohio for new jobs.
The Horseshoe Casino which will open in downtown Cincinnati next spring is urging those employees to apply there. The application process is currently open through Sunday, September 16 for about 750 table game workers.
Job seekers can apply at www.HorseshoeCincinnati.com and click on “Careers.”
Horseshoe executives say they want to hire some people with experience, but it is not a requirement.
