(Aurora, Ind.) - Aurora Mayor Donnie Hastings, Jr. is endorsing a fellow Republican for state representative, not the Democrat who hails from his city.
Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) is running for re-election in House District 67 this November. His opponent is Aurora Democrat Tom Cheek.
"Randy Frye has high principles and solid conservative Republican values. He will continue to create jobs by championing business development, and make Indiana a better place to live, work, and raise a family," Hastings said in a Frye news release.
Frye said he was honored and humbled regarding the endorsement. “Mayor Hastings is a proven leader and respected public servant to the people of Aurora.”
Hastings will host a meet and greet with Frye on Wednesday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Country Club in Aurora.
The mayor’s endorsement comes about a week after Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard threw his support to Frye.
