(Versailles, Ind.) – South Ripley Community Schools are likely to name their new superintendent in a special meeting Monday evening.

The school board is scheduled to meet in the auditorium at South Ripley High School in Versailles at 6:00 to officially hire the new superintendent, who is not yet being identified.

The public meeting will be preceded by a private executive session of the school board starting at 5:30.

The public is invited to a meet and greet with the new superintendent immediately following the school board meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Former South Ripley Schools superintendent John Mehrle left the district earlier this month to become the new superintendent at South Dearborn Community Schools. Mehrle was hired by South Dearborn May 7.

South Ripley's first student day of the 2012-13 school year is Friday, August 3.
