(Cleves, Oh.) – Following pleas from dozens of citizens and Taylor High School alumni, the Three Rivers Local Schools Board did not make a decision Tuesday on what to name the district’s new K-12 building.

The $63 million school is under construction on Cooper Avenue in Cleves. District leaders know it will open in the fall of 2013. What they don’t yet know is the school’s name.

Tuesday night, about 100 citizens and alumni attended the meeting of the Three Rivers Board of Education. Thirty-one people addressed the board, with most in support of carrying over the Taylor High School name to the new school.

Superintendent Rhonda Bohannon said the board voted to form a seven-person study committee to weigh the pros and cons of giving the new school the old name. The appointed committe which will be chaired Board of Education member Tim Wagner

The other committee members will be announced and possibly approved at the Board of Education’s next meeting June 12.
