Pfc. Brett Bondurant
(Rising Sun, Ind.) - A local soldier who survived an IED blast in Afghanistan will take part in Memorial Day activities in Rising Sun.
Army PFC Brett Bondurant will be part of the Ohio County Memorial Day Parade in Rising Sun, said Bill Parks with the Rising Sun American Legion.
The parade starts at about 10:00 a.m. Monday going from the Rising Sun American Legion to Poplar Street.
Bondurant, a Lawrenceburg High School graduate, lost both legs at the knees in the attack September 28. Other members of Bondurant’s unit were injured in the attack. Some died.
The parade will be followed by a Memorial Day service at the Ohio County Courthouse where Bondurant will speak, Parks said. The service will begin at approximately 10:30.
