Construction of the new $63 million Three Rivers Local K-12 school on Cooper Road in Cleves.
Three Rivers Local Schools
(Cleves, Oh.) - What’s in a name? A lot if you ask some alumni of Taylor High School.
The Three Rivers Local School District is currently building a new K-12 school on Cooper Road just off U.S. 50 in Cleves. The $63 million school is slated to open at the start of the 2013-14 school year.
Parts of the district’s current high school building are over a half-century old, so there aren’t many to argue whether a new facility is needed. However, what to call the school is causing controversy.
Three Rivers school board is contemplating naming the new K-12 school Three Rivers School.
Three Rivers Local Schools superintendent Rhonda Bohannon says no decision has been made yet by the school board. The board will hear public input at the board's next meeting on Tuesday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m.
Supporters of keeping the old name are planning to attend the board meeting to voice their opinion.
