Romney(Indianapolis, Ind.) - There wasn’t much doubt about the outcome, but Mitt Romney has won the Indiana Republican presidential primary.

Two of the four candidates on the ballot, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, had exited the race before Hoosiers voted.

Out of 629,702 Republican ballots cast across the state, Romney gained 65 percent support. Ron Paul, who continues to campaign, was second with 15 percent. Santorum (13 percent) and Gingrich (six percent) followed.

Romney attended a fundraiser in Indianapolis on Monday but otherwise did not campaign in the state.

He is close to securing enough delegates to be the Republican nominee in November.
