(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A new poll shows Senator Dick Lugar with a slim two percent lead over state treasurer Richard Mourdock in the Republican U.S. Senate primary.

A Magellan Strategies survey of 400 likely Republican voters shows Lugar leads 44 to 42 percent with less than a week to go before Indiana’s May 8 primary election.

The race is likely to be decided by the 14 percent of primary voters who said they remained undecided on who they would vote for.

It's also noted the organization that commissioned the poll, pro-labor group Lunch Pail Republicans, has endorsed the incumbent.

A poll put out last week by a group supporting Mourdock showed the challenger with a five percent lead. That poll was paid for by Citizens United, a group backing Mourdock.
