(Burlington, Ky.) - There will not be a lower bond for the man suspected in connection with an Aurora woman’s murder.
On Wednesday, Charles “Steve” Stephenson’s attorney asked the Boone County Circuit Court judge to reduce his client’s bond from $50,000.
Today, the judge issued an order denying a lower bond. The Florence resident remains held at the Boone County Jail.
Stephenson, 58, was charged with drug trafficking and tampering with evidence while he has been under investigation for the murder of Leigh Jennings.
The 67-year-old was discovered murdered in her apartment on April 5. Aurora Police believe she was murdered on March 29.
Boone County Commonwealth Attorneys said during Wednesday’s court hearing that Stephenson was the last person known to have seen Jennings alive.
