(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – An accused perpetual thief is back in jail in Dearborn County after skipping out on his court dates.
Jeffrey Shane Inabnit was first arrested August 7 after he allegedly stole a Dearborn County P.A.W.S. donation box full of change from the Dunkin Donuts on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg three days earlier. He was charged with Theft.
Inabnit bonded out of jail on August 16, but may have reoffended when he allegedly drove away from the UDF Mobil station on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg without paying for $42.71 in fuel. Police slapped him with a second Theft charge.
Prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Inabnit’s bond, but he was released from jail before the motion could be ruled upon by a judge.
The 35-year-old did not show up to at least two subsequent court appearances following his arrests. He is now charged with two counts of Failure to Appear, a Class D felony.
Although he claimed he lived in Lawrenceburg at the times of the thefts, Inabnit gave a Harrison, Ohio address when booked into the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on Thursday.
