(Versailles, Ind.) - The commander of the Ripley County Jail was seeing the other side of the cell bars himself last week.
James "Dennis" Pippin, 43, of Milan, is charged with felony Domestic Battery in the Presence of Children. According to the Versailles Republican newspaper, Pippin had consumed alcohol and Xanax pills prior to the incident at his home.
He was transported to Margaret Mary Community Hospital after he consumed a large amount of the pills, the report said.
The allegations were investigated by the Indiana State Police. Pippin told investigators that he did not remember the altercation between he and his wife, who was kicked in the face.
He was arrested October 7.
