Since starting this goal in March, he has raised $5896. This year Aaron has ran the Emerald 5k in Cincinnati for Epilepsy, the Greendale 5k for myositis, a 10k Rat race for Cancer Free Kids and Hospice of Cincinnati, Tri Kappa 5k Hidden Valley, Warrior Dash Crawfordsville Indiana, and Morgan’s Triathlon. He has a strict workout program he follows provided by his marathon coach, Ramon Bermo. Aaron says, “This training has been the hardest routine to stick with because I only get two days off from running, but the payoff has already been worth it” He says what keeps him going is knowing what his sisters have gone through and other friends battling cancer that it inspires him to push his workouts. Aaron says, “I’m doing this not only for my sisters who won the battle, but for ones who lost the battle, the ones fighting the battle and the ones who don’t know the battle is coming” “There are so many people I know just in my community who are fighting cancer, who have beat cancer and who have lost the battle…and it baffles me to think this is occurring all across the world.” “This has been a humbling experience for me because of all those that have supported me donated money and time.”
Aaron recently had a fundraiser held at Top Shelf bar and grill thanks to Rachel Reynolds of Greendale, where there were silent auctions, door prizes, cornhole tournaments, and the band Four Bare Feet played (Jason Diehl and Jared Lischkge). Aaron raised almost $2,000 at this event. “I was shocked at all the businesses that helped and donated. I want to thank: Hooters, Reds, Hollywood Casino, Rising Star Casino, Perfect North Slopes, Willie's, Whiskey's, Lawrenceburger, UCB bank, Funny Bone, Michell's Day Spa, Dearborn Country Club, Sugar Ridge, Buffalo's, Larosa's, Parlour On the Ave, Mary Kay (Sarah Brooks), J.Taps, Riverwatch, Wormies, Ulta, Bar Louie, FB's, Chart House, Brio, Joe's Crab Shack, Bright Skyline & Valley Tan” “There are too many people to mention who donated money but you can go to my personal American Cancer Society website http://main.acsevents.org/goto/aaronmcfelea and you can see the list of WONDERFUL people who donated.
