(Vevay, Ind.) – A multi-million dollar maintenance project has begun on State Road 56 in Switzerland County.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says the construction work clearing ground and moving utilities will take place on the south side of SR 56, about a half-mile north of SR 156. Work began on Monday.
Motorists will notice flagging crews restricting traffic to one lane when needed during the project.
INDOT has also awarded a $6.39 million contract to Force Construction for a slide correction and asphalt resurfacing on SR 56 to begin in April 2012.
