(Logan Township, Ind.) - Investigators have identified a man wanted in Nebraksa as a person of interest in Tuesday's burglary and shooting in Dearborn County's Logan Township.
The Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit and Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday that they are seeking William J. Gajdik in connection with the shooting of a man in his home on Ruth Avenue.
The suspect was last seen driving away from the shooting scene in the victim's 1995 black Ford Thunderbird with Indiana plate 717 AUY. He is described as white, 5'10" tall, with blue eyes and reddish brown hair.
According to investigators, Gajdik, 38, has a warrant for Escape from the State of Nebraska.
Gajdik escaped from a Lincoln, Nebraska detention facility on July 29. He began serving a ten to twenty year sentence for Burglary in 2008 according to the Nebraska Department of Corrections.

Authorities have not identified the victim of the shooting on Ruth Avenue. The 54-year-old male victim was flown to University Hospital in Cincinnati after being shot in the back. Friends and relatives said he had undergone surgery overnight Tuesday and is expected to recover.
