Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies are continuing to search the Bright, West Harrison, and Logan Township for an armed burglary suspect.
A resident on the 3200 block of North Dearborn Road arrived home at about 10:00 a.m. to find the burglar in their home. The suspect pointed a gun at the homeowner before fleeing into some nearby woods.
The suspect remained at-large as of 1:00 p.m. Deputies are following possible leads as they are called in from area residents.
Nearby North Dearborn Elementary School has been placed on lockdown as police search the area. School officials say a school resource officer is stationed at the school. Parents have been notified and advised to not pick up their children from school early.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'7" tall, heavy build, with red hair and wearing glasses. Anybody with information is asked to call the Dearborn County Sheriff's Department immediately at (812) 537-3431.

(West Harrison, Ind.) – Residents in Bright and West Harrison are being told to lock their doors as burglary suspect is on the loose.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department says that a home in the 3200 block of North Dearborn Road near Ed Jacobs Lane was burglarized about 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the homeowner, who had just arrived home.
Deputies and other police are scouring the area in search of the suspect, who is to be considered armed and dangerous according to dispatchers. A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office helicopter and K-9 officers are assisting in the search.
The suspect is described as a heavyset white male, 5'7" tall, with red hair and glasses.
Homeowners within a two mile radius of the 3200 block of North Dearborn Road are advised to lock their doors and report anything suspicious to the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, (812) 537-3431.
