(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Candidates for mayor in Dearborn County’s three cities will appear together this week.
Southeast Indiana tea party group We the Hoosiers are hosting a “Meet the Candidates” night on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The public event takes place at the Lawrenceburg Fire House on Tate Street.
“We are talking about jails, we are talking about convention centers, we’re talking about growth, traffic patterns in our towns, and lots and lots of issues that need to be discussed,” said We the Hoosiers organizer Alex Parniuk.
Mayoral candidates from Aurora, Lawrenceburg, and Greendale have been invited to appear.
Parniuk said the group has received commitments from Aurora mayor candidates Donnie Hastings (R) and Rick Orcutt (D); Lawrenceburg Republican Kelley Mollaun; and Greendale Republican Stephanie Libbert.
Lawrenceburg Democrat candidate Dennis Carr and Greendale Democrat incumbent Doug Hedrick would not be attending, said Parniuk.
Candidates will be given opportunity to talk about themselves, followed by a question and answer session. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak personally with candidates following the event.
