(Ripley County, Ind.) – Southeast Indiana residents can rest easy now that a second escaped prisoner is back in custody.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says 42-year-old Stanley Short, of Sunman, was recaptured prior to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
He was located in a home along State Road 48.
Short and fellow inmate Robert Huskey, 63, of Lawrenceburg had escaped the Ripley County Jail in Versailles on Sunday after squeezing through a hole in the fence of the jail’s recreation area.
Huskey was apprehended on Monday morning, but Short remained at large until now.
