DeVille's Rising Sun Pharmacy celebrates its
grand opening Thursday.
(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A familiar name that many in southeast Indiana have come to associate with quality service and a hometown touch is expanding.
DeVille’s Dillsboro Pharmacy has operated since owner Tom DeVille opened shop on North Street in Dillsboro in 1978. The family operated drug store is ready to begin doing business south of Laughery Creek.
Rising Sun and Ohio County residents had been without any local pharmacy since Beyer’s Pharmacy, the only one in town, shuttered its doors two years ago.
DeVille’s Rising Sun Pharmacy is filling that void. Although it actually opened for business on May 19, the new pharmacy will celebrate its grand opening Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“All employees have a strong tie to the community and are happy to help out fellow locals,” says DeVille’s pharmacist Sarah Turner.
The new pharmacy is located in the 1890’s Foutty Building on Main Street.
“Historic Downtown, Rising Sun First, and the City of Rising Sun were all major contributors in creating such a beautiful store and getting it opened,” said Turner, adding that old photos of the building from years gone by are on display in the store.
Every fifth customer that day will receive a prize. There will also be food and refreshments.
