(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Ivy Tech Community College Southeast will hold a public Volunteer Fair September 14, 2011 at the Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus, 50 Walnut Street. The fair is intended to inform students and community residents of local volunteer opportunities.
The Volunteer Fair will include displays by community organizations. The displays will emphasize each group’s purpose and goals as well as the need for volunteers. Expected to be on hand with displays are Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Casa, Clearinghouse, Special Olympics, YES Home, the Lawrenceburg Public Library, and SIEOC.
Ivy Tech Community College students and students from area high schools, as well as the general public, are encouraged to attend. In addition to helping a worthwhile cause, student volunteers benefit from enhanced resumes important to college applications and scholarships.
