(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Three years probation has been given to a former East Central High School teacher who sent sexual text messages to a female student.
Clinton Hott was indicted by a Dearborn County grand jury in April on charges of Child Solicitation, Child Exploitation, and Obstruction of Justice.
A former assistant band director at East Central, Hott, 35, had been investigated for sending texts to an eighth grade female student. The messages allegedly included photos of his genitalia.
On August 23, Hott’s plea agreement worked out between his defense and prosecutors was accepted by Dearborn Superior Court II Judge Sally Blankenship. The agreement has Hott being convicted of the Child Solicitation charge, while the other two charges have been dismissed.
Hott received a three year jail sentence with credit for 252 days already served. The rest of the sentence was suspended to probation.
As conditions of his probation, Hott, who now lives in Sharonville, Ohio, must have no contact with the victim or her family. He must also register as a sex offender and pay court costs.
