(Manchester, Ind.) - Police are trying to find 900 I-beams stolen from the Dearborn County Highway Department.
The thefts have taken place over the past month says Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Deputy David Funch.
The 4x6 beams each about four to six feet in length are used for guardrails. They were stored in an unsecured area behind a garage at the highway department headquarters on County Farm Road in Manchester.
Funch believes there was likely more than one person involved in the thefts with the use of heavy equipment to move them.
Anybody with information is asked to call the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department at (812) 537-3431. Callers can remain anonymous.
