(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Hollywood Casino will soon have a new general manager touting 30 years of experience in the casino business.

Penn National Gaming, owner of the Lawrenceburg riverboat casino, announced last week they have tapped Joe Hasson to run the ship. The 55-year-old will fill the vacancy left by former general manager Tony Rodio, who left in May to join Tropicana Entertainment in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

According to a Penn National press release, Hasson spent eight years with Station Casinos where he was vice president and general manager of Sunset Station Hotel Casino in Henderson, Nevada.

Before that, he held various positions with Harrah’s Entertainment for 22 years. He managed five Harrah’s casinos in Nevada, Louisiana, Kansas, and Mississippi.

"Joe brings strong management experience and extensive industry knowledge to Penn National and is the ideal person to lead Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg,” said John Fillamore, senior vice president of regional operations with Penn National Gaming. “With his 30 year track record of gaming industry success in a number of the nation's largest regional gaming markets and extensive experience in catering to predominantly locals-based guests, Joe will be able to quickly work with our team at Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg on strategies that drive ongoing improvements in property operating performance while also further cultivating our relationships within the local community.”
