(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Drunk driving has landed an ex-Ohio lawmaker on probation Thursday.
Robert Mecklenborg was in Dearborn Superior Court I. Judge Jonathan Cleary sentenced the former Green Township Republican state representative to a year in jail suspended to probation, a 90 day suspension of his driver’s license, and fines.
He pleaded guilty to an Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated charge on Tuesday.
Mecklenborg will also be requires to use a breathalyzer ignition lock when can resume driving.
The 59-year-old was arrested April 23 during a traffic stop by Indiana State Police on U.S. 50 in Greendale. He failed multiple field sobriety tests and his BAC was over the legal limit.
Mecklenborg resigned as a state lawmaker August 2.
