(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels says the state has hired Washington, D.C.-based Witt Associates to investigate the State Fair stage collapse.
In a statement, the governor said the company, headed by a former FEMA director, will conduct "a comprehensive, independent analysis of the state fair's preparedness and response to Saturday night's event."
The State Fair Commission has hired New York firm Thornton Tomasetti to investigate the stage itself. There is also an Indiana State Police investigation.
“With Thornton Tomasetti conducting the structural investigation and Witt Associates reviewing decision-making and preparedness, we believe we have the best people in America looking at every angle of the accident,” said Andre Lacy, chairman of the Indiana State Fair Commission.
