Update posted at 11:18 a.m.:
More than two dozen Greendale residents woke up Thursday morning to find the word “tag” painted onto their vehicles.
Luckily, the paint was a washable variety and those residents were able to wash it off their windshields, says Greendale Assistant Chief of Police Jeff Lane. There were approximately 20 to 30 vehicles painted.
The department began receiving calls from residents in Beckett Landing, as well as many on Nowlin Avenue, Oakey Avenue, and Probasco Street.
Lane says the fact that the paint was washable does not diminish what he calls vandalism.
“It’s still somebody else’s property,” he said.
Lane says he has received and is following up on leads in the case.
