(Harrison, Oh.) - A motorcycle ride this weekend will benefit scholarships in the name of a former law enforcement officer.
John Klump was a deputy with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department from 1984 to 1991. Before that, he served as an officer for the Harrison Police Department.
Klump died suddenly in 2009. His widow, Debbie, has organized the John Klump Memorial Motorcycle Ride each year since.
This year’s ride will begin at the Harrison VFW on Lawrenceburg Road, Saturday at noon. Registration is at 10:30 a.m.
The cost is $10 per person with proceeds benefiting the John Klump Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The fund awards scholarships each year to incoming cadets at the Butler Tech Police Academy.
