(Aurora, Ind.) - Eight outstanding individuals were inducted into the South Dearborn Academic and Career Hall of Fame on Sunday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Country Club.
Approximately 200 guests attended this inaugural event. Plaques recognizing the inductees will be hung in the main hallway of South Dearborn High School near the entrance to the auditorium.
The eight charter inductees are Dr. Leslie Baker, Judge Lester Baker, Marlene Denmure, Marvin Duerstock, Kathi Green, Linda Hall, Dr. David Huxsoll and Greg Platt.
"These eight inductees make for an excellent inaugural class. I am excited that we are able to recognize outstanding alumni and school personnel in this way. I am pleased to be partnering with our Dollars for Scholars chapter to provide this recognition" states Rob Moorhead, SDHS Principal.
As the program initiator and reception host, South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars also honored their scholarship sponsors and this year’s scholarship recipients.
Debbie Busching, South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars president explains, “Our board decided that by combining these two events we are providing inspiration to this year’s graduates to strive for academic excellence and continued dedication to their community by recognizing the accomplishments of the eight inductees.”
