Deputy Mike Fogle
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Instead of taking his case to trial, a former Dearborn County Sheriffs’ deputy has pleaded to charges he was facing.
Mike Fogle was charged in April with Forgery, Theft, Attempted Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and two counts of Perjury.
An internal investigation revealed that Fogle may have submitted time sheet for hours he had not worked.
Fogle appeared in Dearborn Superior Court II on Thursday for a hearing related to a possible change of venue. Instead, Fogle entered a guilty plea.
Judge Sally Blankenship took Fogle’s plea under advisement.
Sentencing has been scheduled for Thursday, September 1 at 3:15 p.m.
The terms of the plea are not known, but the Probation Department has been ordered to prepare a pre-sentence investigation while Fogle has been ordered to report to the department immediately following the hearing.
