(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The puzzle pieces are being arranged to make way for a new manufacturing business in Lawrenceburg.
City Zoning Director Mike Clark addressed Lawrenceburg City Council Monday about the possibility of up to 110 new jobs.
In order to keep the business’ identity hidden, officials involved are referring to the business prospect as “Project Vessel.” Clark could only say that the company – a light industry manufacturer of pharmaceutical containers - plans to move to the Spirit City from New Jersey.
Proctor & Gamble is among the company’s clients, Clark said.
The company is looking to locate to property owned by Linkmeyer Development on Tanners Creek Drive, behind Orscheln Farm & Home. Phase I of the new construction would be enough for an 80,000 square foot building.
Before the company can commit, it needs to be able to obtain more land adjacent to the Linkmeyer property an additional phase II expansion of 40,000 square feet, Clark said. That land is owned by the Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission.
Council voted to give their approval for the land sale with a favorable recommendation forwarded to the redevelopment commission.
The commission could vote on the sale as soon as their next meeting on Monday, August 8.
