(Cincinnati, Oh.) – A judge has decided that two men who robbed southeast Indiana casino winners have lost their trial.
Ugbe Ojile and Kenyatta Erkins were arrested last October when Hamilton County authorities and security at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg set up an undercover sting to nab the serial robbers of casino patrons. Twenty such robberies were reported.
A Hamilton County Judge announced a guilty verdict against the two men Tuesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The judge had presided over their bench trial in May.
Ojile, 34, was convicted of 13 counts of aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Erkins, 36, was found guilty of 10 counts of aggravated robbery, conspiracy and felonious assault. He was acquitted on eight similar charges.
Sentencing for the two has been scheduled for September 19. They each face more than 70 years in prison.
A third person involved in the robberies was Erkins’ girlfriend, Amy Hoover. In exchange for a lighter sentence, she pleaded guilty to five counts of aggravated robbery in May.
