(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Thursday could turn out to be the hottest day of the year.
National Weather Service meteorologists predict the high temperature will reach 102 degrees. Combine that sweltering thermometer reading with the humidity and the heat index will feel like 116.
Thursday’s temperature had already reached 80 by 8:00 a.m.
Friday will be abnormally hot as well. The expected high is 97 with the heat index topping out at 110.
The weather service has extended an Excessive Heat Warning for the entire Eagle 99.3 listening area from 9:00 p.m. Thursday to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
It’s not likely the weekend will be much cooler. High temperatures in the mid 90s are expected Saturday and Sunday.
