(Aurora, Ind.) – As bike racers travel through the streets of downtown Aurora this weekend, cars will have to find another way through.
The Midwest Regional Masters Championship Cycling event will host a criterium racing event on Sunday The Aurora course will include a six-turn, .7-mile loop with one small climb, and a two-block downhill stretch.
Aurora Police have announced that several streets will be closed with no traffic or parking allowed from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.:
-Second Street from Bridgeway to Main Street
-Main Street from Second to Fifth Street
-Fifth Street from Main to Mechanic Street
-Mechanic Street from Fifth to Third Street
-Third Street from Main to Bridgeway Street
-Bridgeway Street from Third to Second Street
The department warns that vehicles parked within the confines of the race course will not be able to get in or out during this time
The street closures will not block access for those travelling through downtown Aurora to or from Rising Sun. Motorists will be able to use Importing Street to Judiciary Street.
Exporting Street should be avoided unless you are going to the Conwell Street or West Aurora areas, Aurora Police said.
