(Aurora, Ind.) - Memorial services have been announced for a murder victim from Aurora.
Harry “Ken” Harris was shot to death in the home of his girlfriend’s father in Madison last Tuesday, July 12. He was 57.
Harris’ visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 to 3:13 p.m. at Dillsboro United Methodist Church, 10071 Front Street. Services will immediately follow.
Memorials can be made to the Ken Harris Memorial Fund through the U.S. Bank branch in Aurora.
The man who shot Harris, 80-year-old Boyd D. Wright, Jr., was charged by the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office with Murder Friday for Harris’ death.
Wright told Madison Police he had shot Harris because Harris was dating Wright’s daughter and Wright did not approve of their relationship.
Wright said that he saw Harris in his home. He went into his bedroom to retrieve a shotgun. Wright then said he went back into the other room and shot Harris in the back as he sat in a chair.

If convicted of the murder charge, Wright faces a minimum of 45 years in prison – the equivalent of a life sentence for an 80-year-old.
